Kenny Bass vividly remembers being hit by an IED. The deafening blast. The stunning force. The swell of dust. A young Marine Corps combat infantryman serving in the Iraq War, Kenny was conducting a counter-ambush patrol when a roadside bomb wounded him physically and mentally. After two tours, Kenny was declared 100 percent disabled by age 23, but he would feel the effects of that blast for years to come. Terrance Kohler is an 8 year veteran of the United States Air Force, right out of high school. His desire to serve came from his father’s service in the Navy and Coast Guard (CWO2 – Ret), as well as his grandfather who served in the Army WWII. Terrance’s passion was anything with the sky, that is why he went Sky High! His duties were as an Aircraft Engine and Armament Systems (Weapons) Specialist, as well as a Squadron Aircraft Engine Manager Assistant. Master Sergeant Gordon L. Ewell (U.S. Army Retired) was deployed to the War in Iraq in OCT 2005. He arrived in Baghdad in Dec 2006. His mission was to find roadside bombs or Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs); and to ensure that all the teams tasked with this dangerous mission were updated on the latest tactics and techniques the enemy was using with these deadly instruments of war, and had the newest equipment available that they needed to defeat these lethal devices.
